BROKEN BIRDS / ENA'S INFERNO Ena has explored humanity's extremities through the internet. She's talked to pedophiles, the incestuous, sincere advocates for human extinction, the most committed hikikomori, forums used by 18 people with a loud Nazi aesthetic on too much irony to pick out any specific beliefs other than misanthropy. Over the years she's watched an account get deleted after it's owner commited a shooting, been sent nudes without consent by an adult when she was underage, talked multiple people out of suicide, you get the idea.
Unfortunately, she thought she was willing to experience it all purely out of the burning curiosity she's directed at the human condition since the moment she was born. Even more unfortunate, she tried to help a suprising number of these people get better. She saw their obvious suffering regardless of harm, and morality, and however deliberately muffled or played up it was, and thought she could "heal" them. "Fix" them. She thought that, despite her lack of any formal background save for a psych 101 college course when she was 14, her own deep strangeness could cut through in contrast to the cold institutions that failed these people.
She was wrong.
Here, she'll go over a curated list of cases (either compactly, or in a more elaborate Dante's Inferno-inspired structure intended to draw connections to wider human issues, depending on how much worth saying she finds to say), how they each collapsed, and how she slowly wound up turning her observatory lens on herself and finally interrogating why she kept attempting this in compulsion.
