On the way to Debar we stopped at the monastery of St. Jovan Bigorski, popularly thought to have been built in the 11th century. We recieved a guided tour from a young Australian woman who's studying Eastern Orthodoxy here.
Avni, our favorite taxi driver, joined us. Here he is with the monastery mascot.
Unusual for Muslims here, he didn't seem to have any qualms about entering the building.
