𓅐 हिरण्यकशिपु One other new development is that we have set the date for our “babina” or baby welcome party. It will be on the fourth of July. There will be dancing in the street and then eating and dancing at a cafe in Shutka. The Roma are convinced that this is the best cafe in all of Macedonia for parties. It will be a “small” party by some of their standards. We reserved it for people. We have also reserved a band which is made up in part by ’s brother and the son of someone in the church. They are going to do the party for a third of their normal price. We will hire a video tape guy too because it’s really important to them. They watch their party tapes all the time. We will try and get it transferred onto a DVD so we can share it easier with everyone in America. We are praying this will be a good example to people in the church of celebration that is glorifying to God and at the same time fun and acceptable in their culture. Thus far they have not made much progress in having life celebrations that reflect their Christian beliefs. Much of the customs surrounding these events have roots in Islam or the occult. We will be talking lots with and the elders to make it “authentic” but Christian.
