Memory

"You may not believe in magic
 but something very strange
is happening at this very moment.
Your head has dissolved into thin air
and I can see the rhododendrons
 through your stomach.

It's not that you are dead
 or anything dramatic like that,
it is simply that you are fading away
and I can't even remember your name."

- Leonora Carrington, The Hearing Trumpet

Spaced Repetition

Leitner System

A simple spaced repetition implementation. The learners try to recall the solution written on a flashcard. If they succeed, they send the card to the next group. If they fail, they send it back to the first group. Each succeeding group has a longer period before the learner is required to revisit the cards.

Sensory Memory

  1. Processes pretty much everything your senses detect or experience in the real world.
  2. However, most of what it takes in is lost immediately.
  3. What does stick moves into short-term/working memory.
