A substantial portion of my grandad's career was spent on submarine sensors, among other things. Ever since I was 10/11 and created a Scratch game about constructing a submarine to treasure hunt beside a coastal town after re-reading a magazine article about the Marinia trench dozens of times, I've had recurring periods of randomly becoming deeply obsessed with undersea exploration, and I prolly got that from him somehow. I've recently begun taking photos of pretty pictures and diagrams in his large collection of books and papers when I visit. I really wanna understand the diagrams. The writing motivates me to lock in on math (my weakest subject) more than anything else has.

The fact this aspect of nature feels so tangibly unmappable only makes it more beautiful.
